3. Familiarize yourself with the textbook. Read "to the student" in the forward. Check out the content of Einführung A.

4. Tell me about yourself and why you are interested in German; send via email.
I would like all students to exchange email addresses so you, your classmates, and I can contact each other. I will post the addresses on the website ASAP. Please get a new address from Hotmail or Yahoo if you do not want your personal email address to be seen by all.
Send me an email with the completed assignments; (confirm that you downloaded PalTalk and QuickTime, and a short Bio on why you want to learn German.)

Take a look at Page 14 in the text: Zahlen
(numbers)
die Kleidung (clothes) Auf Seite acht. (on page 8)
Make sure that you learn the articles (der, die, das) along with the noun.
For example (zum Beispiel): when you learn the word Frau (woman; wife; Mrs.; Ms.) learn the feminine article (die) - pronounced (dee) along with Frau. (au sounds like ow as in cow)

Make sure that you have finished the Übungen (exercises) 1-5 (pages 19-23)
Look at the Übungen in the text and write you answers in an email.

any of the Paltalk help groups and check to make sure that you are able to speak and be heard as well as hear what is being said. The help groups can assist you in fixing problems. If you do not have a microphone yet, please get one. You will hear much better with earphones than speakers.
